The Conflux 5 Short Story Competition.
Writers of speculative fiction from all over the world are invited to enter the Conflux 5 Short Story Competition.
The story must be on the theme of the convention - Dreaming. Stories are a maximum of 2000 words. There must be a speculative element. Otherwise, the sky is the limit. Stories that fail in any of these elements will be judged ineligible.
Entries will only be accepted April 1 to June 30, 2008. Stories will be emailed to storycomp@conflux.org.au.
The best three entries for the Conflux 5 writing competition will be published in the Conflux 5 souvenir booklet and will recieve a supporting membership (if not already a member). Other prizes will be announced closer to the time.
Stories will be judged by: Gillian Polack (Chief judge), Trudi Canavan, Kaaron Warren, Russell Kirkpatrick.
Entry: $10 for non-members, free for members (if an entrant becomes a member, they will receive a $10 credit on their membership).

Submission guidlelines
- Stories must be submitted as an RTF attachment.
- They must be in Times New Roman or Courier New (12 point), doublespaced with one inch margins.
- No identification pointing to the author is allowed on the manuscript, as they will be blind-read.
- All stories entered must be previously unpublished.
- You can enter more than one story. Each entry for a non-member will cost $10 (but note you'll only get one $10 discount on future membership). Members can enter an unlimited number of times for free.
If these guidelines are not followed, the manuscript will be returned and will have to be re-submitted.
